PhotoHunt #103 High
This is a scanned picture (the resolution isn’t the greatest, but this was before my digital camera) of a shot I took from the top of the 520 foot high Skylon Tower on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Notice the buses in the bottom right hand corner for scale. The squarish looking dot in the center of the Falls is the famous The Maid of the Mist. As fascinating as the Falls were the first time that I saw them, the emerald color of the water at the bottom was stunning. Everybody should see The Falls at least once in their life.

This is a great picture. I’ve never been to Niagra Falls, but it’s on my list.

I’ve never been either, and I can’t believe the color of the water! How neat!

Breath-taking! I’d probably get a ‘high’ if I see it in real life.

The falls are so powerful, they are awe inspiring. I visited once and will never forget the experience. Come see my high vistas from up the lake at http://PowellRiverBooks.blogspot.com - Margy

Lovely photo. Once upon a time Niagara Falls was a major tourist destination and you heard about lots of people going there. Don’t hear about it as much any more. But, it’s a wonderful place. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but the thing that struck me was the difference between the two countries. The Canadian side was all developed in parklands and gardens, while the American side was soooo tacky.
From the falls, the area to the west of Toronto toward Kitchener-Waterloo is also very nice. And, if you like the color of the water, you should go to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and see Lake Michigan and Lake Superior on a good day. Beautiful colors in the water.
