What was the last movie you saw? Was it good? What made it good? What made it bad? What could have been better? Why did you choose this particular movie? Would you recommend it to a friend? To your mom? To your significant other? What summer movies are you looking forward to?
The last movie that I saw at a theatre was “Dan in Real Life” with Steve Carell. We’re big “Office” fans. The movie was formulaic — but not bad, as long as you just wanted to be entertained. The one thing that irked me was that the movie took place in a beach cottage in Rhode Island — keep in mind that there were something on the order of 15 characters to keep track of — and there wasn’t a square inch of wall space anywhere in this cottage. All that clutter was just too distracting for me.
It was definitely a movie that I would rather have watched when it came out in DVD. I may buy it just so I can watch it again.
The last movie that I rented and watched was “No Reservations” — also formulaic, glad I didn’t spend money to see it. At least 80% of it was sad, sad, sad — with little shots of happy thrown in. The characters, especially Catherine Zeta-Jones character, wasn’t fleshed out enough for me. Couldn’t figure out jfor the life of me just what her problem was.
